So last night I was on the the steps of my porch when two cops approached me and my roommate and asked us for our IDs. I of course asked why. Well apparently we were being issued Noise-Violations for a “party” they said took place at our house the previous Thursday (10 days ago at the time). Problem was I was not here that night, only 3 out of my 8 roommates were. The cop said that there was a complaint about our house being too loud. We know for a fact it was not a neighbor who complained but the cop then said that they do not need to have a complaint to come to the door, as long as they can here loud noises coming from the house. The cop then said that when the other cop who showed up that night knocked on the door no one answer. And because of that everyone on the lease will be getting the $400 dollar ticket even if they were there or not. I looked it up and our city has some stipulation about that. My roommates had about 15 people over and we live in a college town. We were wondering if there is anyway of at least getting most of the people who were not here out of it?
