Blink-182 & Mcr @ Molson Canadian Amphitheatre On Aug. 17th Questions/concerns, Help/advice Please!?
June 16th, 2011Hi, I’ve got tickets to see Blink-182 and MCR at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on Wednesday, August 17th, and I have a couple of questions:
Firstly, I bought my tickets (two of them to be exact) on the general public sale day (tickets sold out quicker than I could manage to get a pair during the presale), and I chose the option of picking them up at “a local ticketmaster retailer”. From what I understood as I was purchasing the tickets, I was buying two General Admission/Pit Section tickets. When I finalized the purchase, I printed my receipt and noticed something a bit peculiar. The receipt read:
Section: FLOOR2
Row: GA9
Seats: 49-50
Description: Price Level 1
General Admission Floor
** THIS SECTION IS COVERED
I thought, why the **** are there seats and sections and rows? I thought these were GA tickets?
Mind you, I’ve been to a good amount of shows, but this will be my first time going to a “proper amphitheatre”. All the past shows I’ve been to have been at clubs and places like the Kool Haus and Sound Academy. So, I went on to the FAQs portion of the ticketmaster site, which cleared up the seats and row confusion. Apparently, they use it to keep track of the inventory and the amount of tickets sold, which makes sense. The thing is, I am still confused about what FLOOR2 means. I checked the seating maps and charts with no luck. It could be another inventory tracking technique for all I know. So, if anybody had a clue as to what FLOOR2 means, preferably from past experience, I would appreciate a bit of insight.
Secondly, since I believe I bought a GA ticket, I’d like to get their ahead of time to ensure I have a decent spot in the pit. I was considering 8:30 or 9:00 AM. But, apparently, the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre is located inside of the Ontario Place, and Ontario Place doesn’t open until 11:00 AM. Which made me a little concerned about a couple of things. Are people attending a concert at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre allowed to line up outside of Ontario Place and wait till it opens, to then proceed to line up in front of the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre? I was also concerned about the process of proceeding to the Amphitheatre. From what I understand, passes to Ontario place are included with tickets bought for Molson Canadian Ampitheatre shows. When people are lined up outside, then let into Ontario Place, is it like a, for lack of a better word, race to see who can get a better spot in line in front of the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre? I thought about how each person might have to go through the little booths that they have at most amusement parks to get their tickets checked and get passes into the park, which would allow some time between people entering the park, minimizing the possibility of a little riot breaking out, but I’m still concerned that people are going to sprint and steal spots that people have been waiting in line in patiently, and that the faster runners would have an advantage over the average runners like myself. So, if anyone could clear up that concern for me, I would also greatly appreciate it.
Thirdly,if anyone knows the capacity of the GA/Pit/Floor Section (whatever you want to call it) my friend and I would really like to know. If no one knows that, just an estimate, or a approximate size (ex. really big, small, long and narrow, wide and spacious, etc.) would also be very helpful.
So, to sum up that unnecessarily long description:
What does FLOOR2 mean in regards to the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre?
Are you allowed to line up in front of Ontario Place for shows at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre?
What’s it like going from the line outside of Ontario Place, to the line up infront of the Moslon Canadian Amphitheatre? Is it like a race? Or do they have a system in place?
What’s the capacity of the pit at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre?
How big is it, approximately?
Is it spacious, or is it tight?
Also:
**BONUS QUESTION**
How long are people allowed to hang out in the GA Area after the show? Because, I might be meeting up with some people after the show, so I’d like to know if anyone has any idea.
